We are John and Melissa Sullivan, owners of the Harlow Labradoodles program. We live in northeast Seattle overlooking beautiful Lake Washington.

Maddy

Our pride and joy is our beautiful multi-generational Australian Labradoodle, Happy Tail’s Madame Butterfly, who has Tegan Park origins in her line. Madame Butterfly’s pedigree is available upon request.

Madame Butterfly, also known as "Maddy" is 35 lbs and stands 20"" high. She has a non-shedding curly fleece/wool coat. Her coloring is cream with apricot on her ears, and her nose and eyes are black.

Maddy is agile and is quick to learn tricks. Her strongest trait, however, is her loving personality; she is a lap-dog who is highly oriented to her family. When we walk her, she looks back constantly to take her cues from us, and is not distracted by other dogs. She is at ease with little children, and does not jump or chew. Some of these desirable traits are due to training, but most are due to her wonderful disposition.

Maddy is registered with the Australian Labradoodle Association of America, Inc. (ALAA).

Princess

Our newest little girl is Harlow’s My Fair Lady, also known as Princess. She will make her debut as a breeding female in late 2009, pending health clearances. Princess is an Australian Labradoodle, and is Maddy's daughter from Maddy's 2008 litter. This little girl has a beautiful face with soulful eyes, and a temperament equal in sweetness to that of her mother, Maddy. She tested perfectly as a therapy dog, and is already working with Connecting Canines, a Seattle therapy dog group specializing in placing puppies under a year old with those in need.

Maddy's Owners

Our dogs are kept in our home, not a kennel, and the puppies are raised here as well. By integrating our dogs into our daily lives, the puppies quickly become used to the daily activities of a household, thus should have only a small learning curve when they get to their new homes.

We are often asked how our program came by the name "Harlow Labradoodles". Naming the business after the family was important to us, and Harlow is an ancestral name of Melissa’s from a distant English relative, Sergeant William Harlow, whose arrival in America pre-dated the Mayflower. We are a member of the Harlow Family Association, and our son carries "Harlow" as a middle name.
